Our family spent this weekend in Aspen. While this town has a bit of a rep - we have grown to love it. However, we spend the nights in our camper at a campground a few miles up the road (Difficult Campground) for $20/night and simply hang out in town for certain events or at the lively town center.
This time (again) we wanted to run the Golden Leaf Half Marathon Trail Run. It's not your 'every day' run. Mind you, you are running from Snowmass ski area to Aspen downtown. Starting at 8,104ft elevation then gaining another almost 1,000ft, then descending 1,700ft into Aspen, through glowing forrests, beautiful sceneries, rocky trails and knee-high meadow.
