St Pete Beach October Concert Series Lineup Announced
The 6th annual October concert series presented by Postcard Inn and City of St Pete Beach Recreation is a family friendly event in Horan Park that will occur every Friday in October. Horan Park is located adjacent to the St Pete Beach Community Center at 7701 Boca Ciega Dr. This year’s event will be from 6pm-10pm every Friday with an opening act and headline band each night. Food, beer, wine and other refreshments are available for purchase and valet parking is available at the Community Center. The events are free with a perfect mix of atmosphere, music and community. October 5: Horney Toads
This popular Tampa Bay band has been playing parties and events since 2002 with rocking mojo on stage and a cool mix of musical styles. They are play real live rock ‘n roll music that strike a cord with many.
October 12: Backtrack Blues Band
The Backtrack Blues Band hails from the Tampa Bay region of Florida and has been performing original blues music since 1980. This five-piece unit has an upbeat, electric blues sound reminiscent of the early Chicago blues scene. The band delivers its brand of original electric blues with the passion and integrity of a group that has spent decades refining its craft.
October 19: Jake Castro
This 10 year old sensation has starting playing guitar at age of 5 years and plays like he has played guitar decades. He is getting national attention and has now formed a band with seasoned musicians that play blues, classic rock, and even some latin music.
October 26: Marty Balin
A founding member of Jefferson Airplane, Balin's soulful tenor proved a pivotal element of their sound. After departing Jefferson Airplane, Marty took over lead vocals in 1973 for Bodacious D.F. In 1975 Marty joined Jefferson Starship permanently and in 1981, he released his first solo album, Balin, featuring two Top 40 hits. In 2009 Balin spent the year on and off in the studio with Slick Aguilar recording new songs for the album Blue Highway that came with a rockin’ start with the recording of the 2011 release album, The Witcher.
