Ok, what's up with the snow!? I moved here from Cazenovia NY to escape this weather! And as I was out showing property in the snow yesterday, many cold memories came rushing back!
One of the main reasons we wanted to move to Lake Norman (in addition to the lake) was for the beautiful North Carolina weather. I lived my entire life in upstate NY and endured far too many cold and snowy winters! The year we decided to move (2004) we had a month of below zero temps! The idea of living in the South with warmer winters and very little snow was very appealing to me and my husband. So we began the process of researching different communities and school sytems. Coming from a wonderful public school, this was very important to us. Since it was so cold and snowy outside that year, I didnt mind staying inside and doing this. I am very happy we took the time to learn as much as possible about the area and I am happy with the choices we made. I highly recommend doing as much research as possible to gain a good feel for the different communities and schools. There are many differences, but I am sure you will be able to find what suits you and your family!
