Saints    Eagles

 VS

  Saints by 5 points.

Okay.....this post might be one-sided, but I will try and be fair. I am a die-hard EAGLES fan.  E-A-G-L-E-S

Saints.... have the number 1 offense in yards.  Eagles are 2nd.....

Playing at New Orleans..... louder than before, when the Eagles lost 27-24...on a 34 yd FG with no time left.

Saints have so many play makers on Offense and Brees has been stellar with his quick release.

But..... Bush & McAllister combinded, ranked 19th in rushing yards.  hhhhhmmmm

The Eagles...first meeting with the Saints, the Eagles came out flat and had to play catch up. Took the lead in the 2nd half and allowed the Saints to score tjhe final 10 pts to win the game.  And the Eagles had one crucial turnover which was a fluke on special teams which lead to a TD....  hhhhmmmm....   7 unanswered pts. Remember this.

Eagles.. Westbrook, the ULTIMATE weapon. Anyone see his 46 yd TD run last week.... WOW...did I say WOW?

The receivers coming into the own and Garcia, the QB, plays smart. Didn't play well last week, average. But mistake free. Remember that....

Sure, the Eagles top corner is out.  That hurts big time. But the Saints have a key def. player out. And the Eagles Wr. Stallworth didn't play in the first game and Westbrook was held to less than 30 yards.

Wait.... the Saints are 2-5 when giving up more than 100 yards on the ground. They are 4-4 at home this year. The Eagles have won 6 in a row and 3 of those were on the road, against divisional foes, that are big-time rivals and when McNabb was out. Garcia has held his own and the Eagles defense has played better.

Overall...The FANS will be way into it. Everyone but Eagles fans wants to see the Saints win because of Katrina the previous year. The Saints are a Cinderella team. But, they have only won 1 playoff game ever. This is their 1st Division game ever.  Andy Reed...  8 - 5 in the playoffs. Remember Eagles first NFC championship back in 2001.... against Tampa Bay.... Eagles were favored, the cold was suppose to be a factor.....  but the overa;; script and preparation of the Bucs, proved all skeptics wrong. Well faulks, you have heard it right here....it will happen again.

Eagles 24    Saints 21      Johnson, the Eagles defenisive cordinator will bring need schemes and blitz packages. If they ruffle Brees, this allows the Eagles to have a shot. And remember.....  in the last 5 games, the Eagles running game has stepped up bigger than ever. This allows them to open up their offense.

Sorry Jeff the Eagles are going to lose in a close one. If Jeff Garcia and the offense start out how they did against ny its going to be a long day. The Saints weakness is their Defense and their offense is playing on all cylinders. Plus Your starting corner Lito Sheppard is out.

Eddy.. I know all of this. Did you read what I wrote?  I wrote those 2 exact things.  Slow start and no Litto Shepard...... but you have to look at what the Saints are missing on D also.....   so, if the Eagles match offense, it will come down to whose defense plays better... and if it comes down to a special teams big play, that could settle the game. And I pointed this out... the Eagles muffed a punt inside their 10 yd line and the Saints scored at the same time. That's 7 easy pts.....

The Saints.... I think more people are picking them because of home crowd and because of the Cinderella thing.... and because of Kartina.... a lot of emotions which can wins games on that alone... but if the Eagles don't allow the Saints to score on their first series.... mark my words, this will be a big boost for the Birds....

I did read your post i pointed out the two keys to the game,  we agree. What i will say is this, if the Eagles beat the Saints they will be playing in Miami but will get smashed by the AFC opponent which will be Baltimore.

Eddy.... I think the winner of this game goes to the Super Bowl..,... but get smashed?  Look at the history of the Super Bowl..... rarely any blowouts in the last 6 years, no matter how good one conference is....  I am big on stats and tearing games apart.  There is no guarentee that Baltimore makes it... I think they have their hands full today with Indy.... just watch and see... in the last 5 years.... home teams are 85 and 16...something like that.  Last year... the final 8..... 2 and 2, were the home teams.....  and these stats stand no matter how good a team is..... again, just facts....

Sorry Jeff but I think the Saints take it tonight.

Saints by 3. Philly does have a lot of momentum going into the playoffs and are playing well.

Sorry Jeff, maybe next yr.

Favorites should win today but don't count the Pats out. Belicheck is a Hall of Fame coach and he will have the Pats ready. Although, the Chargers will be tough and the Pats will need to play their best game of the year.

GO PATS!!

Jay.....   I am still in disbelief after last night. The Eagles had a chance at the end there. Damn stupid penalty. If it wasn't for the false start, they would have at least tied the game.

Hey ...it was a good game though. Did you see that hit put on Reggie Bush on the opening drive?   wow...

Jeff, I saw the hit and it was probably one of the hardest hits I've seen in a while. The illegal procedure call was definitley a gutsy call by the ref. I gues we'll never know if they could have tied the game will we?

GO PATS!!

Aaaarrrrrrrggggghhhhh....   they would have at least tied it......  they were in field goal range with that catch.

In regards to the Pats?  I think they have a decent chance to win, but I took the Chargers.

I took....

Indy

Eagles

Bears

Chargers

2 dogs and 2 favs.....   if you remember last year, the home field teams were 2 -2.  Maybe 3 -1 this year>

Just busting them on you a little.

I don't even know the spread on the Pats game.

2-2 would be better. LOL

Jeff the last time a NFC team won the superbowl was in 02 tampa bay. Since then the AFC has dominated.

The Eagles choked this one away after that fumble by Bush late in the fourth quarter they should have at the very least tied the game or even took the lead with a td drive. The saints didnt play defense. and the philly D was tired. The false start killed them. THey were doing so good with the crowd noise until then.

If the Bears offense shuts down like they did in the fourth quarter against the seahawks, the saints have enough firepower to jump all over them. Grossman just isnt consistent enough to have a big game.

The Bears remind me of Baltimore from 2001....  but Baltimore's defense was much better....  The Bears are very easily beatable.
