As a Team Leader, I love that I get to do things in the Industry that most people don't get the opportunity to do -- I get to meet and have great conversations with talented agents every day!!
Today, I met with a "Super Star" agent! I spent almost 2 hours with him. At the beginning of our conversation I had asked him what his GOALS for the next year were. He replied, "To make more money!" Typical response, right? I kept digging deeper with him asking, what would more money do for you? If you had $100 more then last year would you be satisfied or is it $50,000 more? How would making more money make you feel? What could you do with more money and how could it change your life?
I went into the importance of GOALS with him. I believe, if you do not have a clear goal, what is it that you are working towards? My definition of a "clear goal" is something Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and has a Time limit! When we have these 5 things we have a clear path to where we are going and how long we want it to take us to get there.
So, going back to my meeting with this agent I realized just the fact of our business model of every agent starting on 70/30 commission would make him more money in one year--even if he did exactly what he did the year before since he was on a 50/50 split. Now, imagine if he could add 2-4 more deals? WOW he'd be making a lot more money!
I see a huge potential in aggressive agents like him. He is going to be a "Super Star" and probably doesn't know it ...YET!
