Open Houses.....Necessary Evil

Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams

Open Hosues....Necessary Evil. Every time this year, I ask myself should I do a open house or watch football and enjoy my weekends. I quickly learned that a little bit of sacrifice goes a long way. After starting open houses a few years ago, I quickly started doing 20+ more transactions a year because of open houses. You ask how, well a lot of trial and error! To be honest every realtor says, the summer months are the "real estate months." I find that to be mostly true until I started holding open houses in October, November and December. I closed more transaction in Dec 2011 than any month in my real estate career. So when you ask yourself, should I hold a open house. Remember all the real estate agents that are "enjoying" themselves.

If anyone would like more information on how I turned and converted so many open house leads, shoot me and email. I've also tought some classes if y'all would like that. It's about a 3 hour class.

Hi Ashley,

I am an education and training fanatic.....I except all tried and proven methodology.

I use Open Houses in the right are's, where I believe the traffic and exposure warrant them......however, I can change my mind....

This is so true! I know a realtor who runs her business strictly on open houses.

I'm having an open house on Saturday, 10/6- so I can enjoy a little Sunday football!  I'd love to get your tips. I've never been successful at Open Houses. I'll shoot you an email. Thanks!

I believe open houses works. Even if you dont get a customer immediately, you meet potential sellers and buyers as future clients

I've done numerous open houses where not one person walks through. The justification is the branding. Everyone sees my signs and knows how hard I'm working. Eventually, my name gets out there and people are knocking at the door!
