What could be better, a classic film starring Alan Ladd and Olivia de Haviland and the opportunity to meet David Ladd, Alan's son and co-star of the movie, "The Proud Rebel."  A night of great entertainment and the opportunity to see the premier of what promises to be a long running film festival here in Cedar City, Utah!

When I was a kid, Alan Ladd was my favorite male actor.  I thought he was gorgeous.  Then along came James Dean and things weren't quite the same again.  Still, when I see that scene I can picture Alan riding across the plain to destinations unknown, with a little whistling and guitar music as accompaniment.

Hi Tony & Darcy, I really like this picture and the film festival sounds like a lot of fun. We have Time Warner Channel and they have a 24 hr channel that plays all the old movies and most are B & W. I just watched one the other night and it was wonderful...Clark Gable and Alexis Smith. It had a really nice ending as so many of them, the hero gets shot in the end. Thanks for sharing and if you attend, have a great time.

Kristin, There are times when I really enjoy the Black and White Movies.  I have recently discovered how much I like the Humphry Bogart movies, the Big Sleep and of course the Maltese Falcon.  I at one time thought that they weren't much fun to watch in Black and White, but now I can't imagine them not being in black and white.
