For the Birds

A humming bird hummed by this morning.  He was after the blooms on a moss rose hanging basket.  Last spring we had a similar visitor .

Right after we saw the first hummer we went into hyper drive.  The feeders were located , food was mixed and the feeders were installed where the birds could easily find them.  We watched for weeks until it was clear that no further birds were coming .

We have become accustomed to enjoying a wide variety of birds in this yard.  It obviously is in a migratory path of many sizes and species.

The fall season has been highly rewarding in the bird sighting department.

That may not be a big deal to many, but it is one of the best features of this house to us.

Hope our morning hummer made a note to come back tomorrow.  He truly made today happy!

One could say that we maintain this yard for the pleasure and convenience of the birds.  Such a simple thing to do!

The experience to get you to the other side!

Just put out the last batch of hummer nectar on Saturday.  They will be gone from our area pretty soon.  Headed your way I believe.

They are a sight to watch.

I don't see many hummingbirds but I get a chance to see plenty of other birds in my neighborhood. In the spring it's the Osprey in the fall the Eagles come back?

We have a feeder that does this. The small birds like the parrots, black birds, blue jays, etc. all spray the seeds to the ground for the ducks. I think they are either being neighborly or something else is going on here.
