Have you ever had a time in your life when everything seemed to be going wrong and you just felt like giving up?
Several times in the past few years I have found my self in a situation where everything just seemed to be bad and getting worse and worse. I had people who were close to me telling me "don't worry, everything happens for a reason and that sooner or later I would find out what it was".
Of course, as depressed as I could be, I doubted it. When it's YOU, the whole world can tell you it will get better, but you don't believe it till you see it with your own eyes.
So time went by and I kept on feeling the same way. Then one day, like being struck by lightening, I knew what that reason was, Why I had to go through all the things I did. It's part of life. It's necessary for us to grow and learn. It's these lessons that teach us to appreciate what we have every day; all those little things that we take for granted sometimes.
Now I believe that all of the things that happened to me in my life have made me a stronger person than I was before. I appreciate all those little things that I took for granted before. I got to meet my real friends for the very first time; I know who my real friends are and those are the ones who stuck by me no matter what.
I know I'll have more bad times in my life, but next time someone say's "DON'T FORGET EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON", I'll know it's true. We all go through bad times in life, the important thing is to know that sooner or later that reason will come to you and when that happens you will find yourself better off than you were before.
Thought for today: "It's not what happens to you... it's what you do about what happens to you that matters!"
Have a productive weekend.

Sometimes it just keeps on coming, the news you don't want to hear....What next is the question that comes to mind. What else could happen.... I think we all have been there...
Well said. Everyone should have this paragraph framed
"I know I'll have more bad times in my life, but next time someone say's "DON'T FORGET EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON", I'll know it's true. We all go through bad times in life, the important thing is to know that sooner or later that reason will come to you and when that happens you will find yourself better off than you were before."
Good Morning Bill, thank you for the words of inspiration! Once again, great blog.
Very true!! You may not see it as you're going through those challenging times but when it's all over, you will know why!! Have a great weekend!!
Been there too and quite frankly it is harder to push through as I get older. When your younger you don't think of the end but as you get older you realize your time is so short. Having challenges when your older is more debilitating in my opinion. The Golden Years we thought would happen were removed with the crash of the economy and so our life line of determination is weathered and weak. It will improve I am certain but the path along the the way can be overwhelming.
Life is like parade. Sometimes all you see are the horses pooping in the street. Gotta focus on the big picture!
Richard, that is the question that comes to mind when we are being challenged!
Gary, I agree with you. Better than some of those cartoons I see posted instead!
Thanks Wayne.
Beth, and it usually turns out not as bad as we thought!
Cheryl, great observation and I think you are right on the money. Just means aas we get older we've got to get tougher!
Isn't that what they say about being a follower? The view in front never changes! Thanks Doug.
some days are tough, but either the day takes you on or you take the day on
Whenever I had or have a bad day, and I talk with my dad about it, he still reminds me that "Everyday can't be a banner day". As a kid, I ignored it but now as an adult, it does help me get through a rough day knowing that tomorrow has to be better! Have a great weekend!
