Rice Harvest Festival Parade in Katy Texas
Prior to the actual Katy Rice Harvest Festival, a Rice Festival Parade will take place that features bands, classic cars, several floats, local Katy Texas schools, youth organizations, local churches and large crowds of people while it proceeds through numerous blocks of Old Katy. This is annual event that precedes the actual festival by approximately one week. The parade will be held on Saturday October 6, 2012 beginning at 10 AM in downtown or historic Katy Texas. The actual lineup of Parade participants will start at 9 AM.
The Parade begins at The Katy Church of Christ and then proceeds south towards Second Avenue and then north on Avenue C and concludes at Adorable Reception hall which is
located at 519 10 TH Street.
All entries for the Parade are due by Wednesday October 3, 2012 and there is no fee to enter.

I have been told his Parade is a fun event to participate in or to go and watch. I personally have never been able to attend as there have always been major conflicts. As I mentioned above the 32 ND Annual Rice Harvest Festival will be held the following weekend. I plan to write a blog about this huge local and important economic event. I am pretty sure I wrote blogs last year about both the Parade and the Festival.
