Never Talk to Strangers!

By
Mortgage and Lending with Diverse Solutions

Remember when you were five-years-old and your mother took you aside, bent over and said

"Sweety...NEVER TALK TO STRANGERS! OK?!"

Well it's sage advice save for the fact that you're in Real Estate now and your business depends on your ability to turn strangers into friends, and friends into clients!

If you already have a large referral based business, more power to you!

For those of you that don't and want business NOW, there's nothing more powerful than shaking hands and meeting new strange faces. If you think blogging is the way to go and writing a Local Niche Blog will have the leads pouring in, there's a way to accomplish both (of course by "both" I mean write for your blog and shake hands at the same time).

I said it then and I'll say it again... Get your camera, get out there and get involved with your local community! You'll gather tons to write about and in the process of engaging and networking you might pick up a client or two.

You're in the Real Estate Sales business...talking to strangers is the one parent rule that you're supposed to break!

Don't you think?

Very true.  I am not counting on my referral base to get the job done.

Absolutely true.  You have to be a people person to make it in this business, and blogging is a great way to get in front of people.  Nice post.

Matt: I'm a big proponent of System 4 on your Top 10 Systems!

Adam: It's all about "Diversified Marketing"! A referral business is great but we always need to supplement it with new business generated via many different sources!

Kathy: some would say, "Brilliant!!!" :-)

Sonja: thanks for stopping by!

Danny: great minds think alike!

Ryan: blogging is certainly a great tool. I won't denounce it one bit (I mean heck I've closed deals blogging)! But at the end of the day, it's ok to get out of the computer and shake hands with someone new. You can't fail to get business that way!

Antoinette: thanks for the compliment! Breaking out of our/"the" comfort zone is the key! But like the Nike slogan says, "Just Do It!"

Lisa: with a smile like that...I can see how that's true.  :-)

That is one rule I have broken in order to gain exposure.  I am always trying to attend these Ladies groups for friendships and in hopes of becoming their Realtor one day.
