North Georgia Train Ride through the Blue Ridge Mountains

North Georgia, Blue Ridge Mountains, Blue Ridge Scenic Railroad, Vacation and Recreation

 "...a piece of railroad history"

Come take a 13 mile, 3.5 - 4 hour trip on the Blue Ridge Scenic Railroad which will take you along the beautiful Toccoa River for most of the trip. As you start the ride you will leave the hustle and bustle of the town and ride the rails possibly seeing turkey, deer and an occasional beaver.

As we make our way to McCaysville, GA/Copperhill, TN you will be told about some of the sites along the way. You’ll see the ‘Wye’ at Murphy Junction, the Kodak moment where you will get your first glimpse of the river and a view both up and down stream and also a fish weir better known as the fish trap.

The trip takes 1 hour to arrive at our destination of McCaysville, GA/Copperhill, TN where you will have the opportunity to shop and/eat for 1 ½ - 2 hours depending on the day of your travel.  You will then reboard the train and return to Blue Ridge and city life hopefully with memories that will bring you back again and again.

We have always wanted to take our Harley's through the Blue Ridge Mountains but as we get older it gets harder. This may be a way to see them at our leisure. Thanks for the tip.

Cheryl:  I hope you get a chance to ride the rails through the mountains.  Autumn is a great time for this. We have lots of bikers through our area year round.
