Erica Ramus Made Us Feel Right at Home
This weekend, I drove up to Pottsville, PA for a family wedding. I had done a day trip to Pottsville, PA in the spring with my cousin and had lunch with Erica then. At that time, my cousin was in from New Mexico and wanted to pick up some one of Pottsville's specialties: Hot Bologna. Meeting Erica was the highlight of the trip for both
of us, so when I knew I was going to this wedding, I got in touch with Erica to set up another meet up. She even gave me hotel recommendations. I booked at one she recommended, told her where I'd be and when, and we coordinated a dinner.
Upon arriving to the hotel, my brother in another room, and my Aunt and I in the one just next door, were each surprised by what we thought were the mini bar items on a bureau. Four cookies and a gigantic jar of hot bologna. Must be a Schuylkill County thing, we decided as we rode in the car to meet Erica at a diner.
After warm hugs all around, we settled in to our booth and Erica asked if we'd gotten her gifts. We were perplexed, then it clicked that the cookies and hot bologna were from her. Erica had not only remembered our last quest for the pickled meat, she had spoken with the manager of the hotel, gotten into our rooms before we arrived and left those items just for us. Talk about making someone feel at home. What a warm welcome!
Just as it was last time, it was great to see Erica. And the cookies she left were amazing. The hot bologna we wisely decided not to open until we got home. Thanks, Erica!
