Yum! That's the first word that comes to mind when I drive by Icing on the Cupcake at 5065 Pacific Street in Rocklin, CA. I think the reason it took me so long to finally stop by and try their cupcakes is because it's too conveniently close to home...and that certainly could put on extra pounds that I don't need! :)

Anyway, Bob and I finally stopped by Icing on the Cupcake last Saturday to redeem a Groupon I bought for a 6-pack of cupcakes and one of their daily specials was Chocolate Peanut Butter cupcakes. As a lifetime lover of Reese's Peanut Butter cups, this sounded like a cupcake made especially for me!

Icing on the Cupcake not only has indoor seating, but they offer patio seating as well. If it was a little cooler than it was on Saturday afternoon, this would have been a perfect place to relax while sipping on coffee or tea and nibbling on a cupcake.

We decided to get a variety of Icing on the Cupcake flavors to try for our 6-pack so we could sample and share, but we each got our own Chocolate Peanut Butter! From left to right, the top row is: Chocolate Chip, Peach Pie and Snickerdoodle. The bottom row is: Mint Chocolate and Chocolate Peanut Butter.

Icing on the Cupcake is open Monday to Saturday from 10:00am to 7:00pm and on Sunday from 11:00am to 6:00pm. They have a recycle special where you get a free cupcake if you bring back their cupcake box for a refill. If you check-in to Icing on the Cupcake on FourSquare, they also have specials for newbies, repeat customers and of course, the mayor. Leilani, Great Localism article and the cup cakes look delicious. Cup cakes have become so popular and rightfully so, even featured in a TV show and we have several special cup cake shops in Naples. I try to stay away from them too, they are so tempting!

Toni, since our weather forecast predicts high temperatures in the mid-80's to the low-70's in the next few days, the patio would be a comfortable spot to hang out. It's much better than the mid-90's days we've been having lately! :)

We definitely enjoyed this box of cupcakes, Joan, especially to sample their flavors during our first visit there! Next time though, I think we'll just stop and have ONE! One EACH, that is. :)

Michelle, that would be true, since I am adventurous! Also, my very favorite cookie in the entire world is one that resembles a Reese's Peanut Butter cup...chocolate on the outside and peanut butter on the inside. :)

Christine, this was the first cupcake shop I have set foot in, but you're right...I've seen shows like "Cupcake Wars" on the Food Network channel and cupcake photos that my Facebook friends post, so they're definitely more popular than they have ever been. :)

Barbara-Jo, I think you just gave me a reason to go back to Icing on the Cupcake to find out the answer! Pumpkin cupcakes with pumpkin icing sound absolutely heavenly to me...and I would have one with a pumpkin latte! :)
