mmer vacation. One of the most expensive...and least enjoyable...times for me is the boring horseback ride. I used to work on a dude ranch and really like just letting it all out every once and a while. But for these three young bucks.....or buckettes....there is nothing more exciting than hopping on a flat, slow, hot and dusty trail. For me??? The only enjoyment I received was watching them eat it up like ice cream on a hot summer day.

When I was little like them I too wanted to ride horses all the time. Only got to do it once. Also a vet lived next door and he always had lots of cattle and horses in his pen that was up against our property line.

Larry - When I was a kid I often went horse back riding. It was one of my favorite pastimes. Fast forward a generation or two, when along with a daughter and grandson, I went along on a half-day horse ride in Puerto Vallarta. That ride, along with the heat, the blisters, and the sore back, affected the quality of the rest of my vacation. I can sympathize with you greatly.
