I know most of you have come across Vidal Junction, at the intersection of Hwy 62 and Hwy 95 about 20 miles west of Parker Arizona. Well I bet you did not know there is a small town just 6 miles south of Vidal Junction just past the rail road tracks highlighted by a large silver water tower.
Back in the day Wyatt Erp lived in Vidal when it was a bustling mining town, now all of that is gone. There is a total of 10 people living in Vidal today.
Just south of main street there is a gravel airstrip that has seen better days. Over the next few months I am going to be rejuvenating the airstrip from the desert. I have heard from some of the old timers that the airstrip was used by the Army Air Corps during WWII but since then I think the only planes that land there are hobbyists and importers from Mexico.
