What's in a Name? Choosing the Perfect URL/Domain Name:

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Quicksilver Real Estate Solutions, LLC

When we take on a new client, we often get questioned for our opinion on the new website’s URL (domain name). We usually tell clients that as long their user name is easy to communicate and easy to remember, it is a winner. Richard Hartian of WinningAgent.com is on the same page, putting the approach into some easily digestible guidelines. Our personal favorites are #4: ‘Short is good, but memorable is better’, and #5: ‘Avoid Trickiness’.

You URL should be pertinent to you, your area, and your target demographic. Check out Richard’s full list of guidelines for choosing a URL here. The list is 10 short, simple and fully applicable suggestions to make the most of your website’s URL.

Here is a sneak peek of the intro:

"You’ve decided to take the plunge and launch your own personal website. Good for you! Launching a web site is a bit like having a baby—although hopefully it won’t take you quite nine months to get it done. But, much like giving birth, you’ll probably want to choose a name before you get to the delivery stage. So here’s our 10-point checklist for creating the URL (domain name) that personifies your brand." -WinningAgent.com

Don't fret if Richard's list makes you realize that maybe your domain wasn't the best choice. You can always purchase a new domain and re-route your servers!
