Raising awareness of Active Rain

By
Real Estate Agent with Sky Realty South Austin

Today I see 66,700 Members of active rain..  I know many many members of the public view our blogs and like our site.. I would like to challenge every member to help raise the Public Awareness of ActiveRain.  We can all help get the word out to the public and it will raise every members online presence.

The thoughts of putting AR membership on my business cards came to me..  the AR logo on my Open House signs, flyers and all the eflyers and brochures ..  I think it would benefit all members and open the public eyes to this network of professional and skilled Realtors.

Referrals happen here often, so we know the public is reading .. NAR stats say 85% of buyers visit the internet to search for homes before contacting a realtor.  That tells us we need to make AR an at the tip of the tongue word like Google is to search engines, Active Rain could be to realtor search.

What say you ARers?

Ok Gail I have thought about this while working on various things all day.  It has stayed in this little corner niggling at my brain, lol.  See this is why I should never read before I post.  I like the idea, I mean I have the biggest link on my website that I think AR lets you use, lol.  I am in the process of rethinking my business cards and what I want to utilize the back for and had already thought of incorporating my personal website there but could also link to AR on it.

We don't do flyers or I should say my partner doesn't do them but since I will be listing some this year I will be doing them so yes it could be incorporated there as well.

I think another place to put it would be in your email signature.

But here is my big thought -- drumroll please -- we need an online store where we can purchase inexpensively AR doodads.  Like coffee mugs, t-shirts, key chains, etc you get my drift I am sure.  These doodads could also be used as gifts for contests instead of points (oh god I am gonna get shot for sure for saying that)  but they could.

So that is what went rolling around in my brain all day.  Yes, I like the idea and may put it to work and see what happens.

Richard, thanks for the good wishes.. and for stopping in today... :)

Linda, I like your ideas.. I was wondering if I could buy magnets with the AR logo on it.. and of course some of my stuff on them too... See what we can do collectively?  I think we could be on to something!!

I just read that chain and it really pumps me up.  This is blogging at it's finest.  A free, easy way to brainstorm with peers and come up with great ideas.  I am a brand new AR user, but I think this is going to be a great tool for building my business.

I agree that using the logo to increase awareness is key. Use it on your signature of your e-mails. On your web sites. Maybe when you post listings to sites like point2 , craigslist as well - put the link in! Great stuff!

Gail, I agree.  I think the more we promote AR the better it will help us promote ourselves.  Then of course, you will see top producers hire staffs of blogger to post to the site all day to increase their points.  That's a scary thought.  It just came out.

I am the only (active)activerainer in my town of 125 realtors. They do not even have a clue how big this will be!
