It's Autumn and the Great Smoky Mountains are calling!

What a great display of colors of the SmokyMountains ...it really is not autumn here yet but the cold snap that is coming in will change all of that.

I love any mountains anywhere and yours are just as beautiful as all the others.

Richard, Our Smokey Mountains have been a favorite of mine since childhood. Great memories of rock jumping in the creeks are still like yesterday.

Hi Richard - Having grown up in your neck of the woods, I spent a lot of my younger years in those mountains - they are indeed beautiful, particularly at this time of year, and there is a sense of ancient about them.

Thanks for the lesson on the Smoky Mountains. I did not know they were so old. Our Cascade Mountains here in Washington State are considered young. Love the poem and the photos. I look forward to more of your photos this Autumn season.

Beautiful photo.  I sure miss seeing the changing of the leaves.  We get a bit here but nothing like the falls I spent in Michigan.  Hope to do it again sometime in the future.

I went north to my cabin for the weekend.  Time to winerize it.  The color was awesome and I thought it would have all been gone.
