Chandler’s Restaurant at the Hilton Carlsbad Oceanfront Resort
The newly opened Chandler’s Restaurant at the Hilton Carlsbad Oceanfront Resort is well worth your visit, whether you sit at the bar as I did the other night for dinner, or for table dining inside or out (with some ocean views) for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Bartenders Marc and Dan will take good care of you as they did us, and you are likely to strike-up a conversation in this convivial atmosphere at the bar with one of the locals or visitors from out of town who also love Carlsbad.
We also met Marc Yeshoua, the Restaurant Manager, who hails most recently from The Grand Del Mar - an impressive credential for sure, along with his background as sommelier, chef, and sous chef - and no doubt the high quality service Grand Del Mar customers enjoy is carrying over to Chandler’s Restaurant.
The menu at Chandler's Restaurant is varied, there is a very nice selection of wines by the glass or bottle, and fresh produce is clearly highlighted in the chef’s inventive dinner creations…as they should be. We had a wonderful Alberino by the glass (OK, more than 1) and shared the peasant stone-baked pizza (duck confit, roasted garlic, leeks, grilled onions, pearl tomatoes) which was excellent. Along with a salad it was a bountiful meal. I look forward to testing more at the next visit for Happy Hour (4:30 – 6:30) or otherwise.
