Texting Ebonics - The New Language you need to know

So here I am getting a text from my son and upon reading it am immediately panicked and wondering if has he been caught drinking with his buddies at 13, or if his thumbs have been tragically broken by a bully for his lunch money!

Here is the text

IANADBIPOOTV

So I responded HUH!

He replies:

WICUF2F ILLE

At that point my iphone went flying.

Here is the translation...

(son) I am not a doctor but play one on TV

(dad) HUH!

(son) When I see you face 2 face I'll explain

Dad - Iphone still goes flying!

So parents reading this, or agents with texting clients - I thought I would share a translation and a great new texting dictionary. For which I now use to spy on my kids and so I can stay up to date with the new lingo, after all - I thought I was hip being able to use LMAO - you dig :-)

Other cool ones I have learned that do make me hip with clients and my kids are:

2G2B4G         TO GOOD TO BE FORGOTTON

831                 I LOVE YOU

4COL             FOR CRYING OUTLOUD

BBN               BYE BY FOR NOW

BAG               BUSTING A GUT

DDSOC          DIFFERENT DAY SAME OLD CRAP

IAWU             I AGREE WITH YOU

MLF               MY LOVE FOREVER

NALOPKT      NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE KNOW THAT

So if like me, you don't want to know another language, but want to be more conversant with your kids, clients and friends try Texting Ebonics - The New Language you need to know.

I'm constantly catching myself using texting terms instead of spelling things out when trying to write  a professional email.  We get so caught up in it.  Well, TTFN.

The perfect home is a means of self-expression

That is interesting, I guess I am still an old fashioned lady who still spells the full words in her text messages.

No wonder I hate texting, because it takes way too long to finish a sentence.

I better buy the text book or dictionary
