Fleet Week in San Francisco is always a lot of fun and a huge event, bringing in thousands of visitors. This year, in addition to the air shows and parade of ships, we have the added attraction of watching America's Cup yacht racing.
Yesterday's performances, both in the air and on the sea, were stunning--the day was crystal clear, with warm sunshine and gentle breezes. (I might have a different assessment about the breezes if I were taking part in the Amerca's Cup races - one of the Team Oracle boats capsized in the first regattas, but was back in it minutes later for the second team raced of the day.)
This afternoon we expect a repeat performance, with its own twists.
The Air Show begins at 12:30, featuring a rescue demo by the US Coast Guard, Marine Corp demonstration, Royal Canadian Air Force demo, stunt planes from Lucas Oil and Team Oracle, and precision formation flying by the Patriots Jet Team. The US Navy Blue Angels closes out the day from 3:00 to 4:00.
Hope you get a chance to enjoy this last day of 2012 Fleet Week.
