Columbus Day Parade Manhattan New York 2012

The Columbus Day Parade has a very long tradition here in New York City.  The parade runs along Fifth Avenue from midtown up to 72nd Street.  It is estimated that approximately 1,000,000 spectators line the streets to watch the parade, and I can include myself as one of them.  If you are ever in Manhattan on Columbus Day, the parade is a must attend event.

Morgan -- great photos of the 2012 New York Columbus Day Parade in Manhattan!  I heard that Christopher Columbus was not there this year...

Hi Morgan,

I always knew the Columbus Day Parade in NYC was big but I did not realize how big as a 1 MM crowd is huge any where. Good pictures by you of the Parade.

I am amazed that Columbus Day is still celebrated since he never landed in America, it was the Bahamas, and he brought White Man's diseases and death with him for the native populations......................I guess most people don't think about that.
