Clay County NC Master Gardeners Get In The Fall Spirit. As many of you know, we recently purchased a “fixer-upper” foreclosure. It was our intention to fix it up, put it back it on the market and, hopefully, make a little money in the process. However, after meeting several of the neighbors it didn’t take us long to realize what a great neighborhood we had stumbled upon and that we really wanted to stay here for a while.
A few days ago when coming into the development we stopped to compliment our neighbors, Jack and Jean Parrish, on their fall display - a artfully arranged bale of hay, scarecrow, pumpkins and flowers. Turns out they are Clay County Master Gardeners and the fall display is part of their annual fundraiser.
When we had kids at home I loved to have similar displays and, after seeing several such displays in the neighborhood, had already decided (kids or no kids) we needed one of our own. Needless to say, It didn’t take much urging to get Mr. Parrish to set us up with our own scarecrow family and, for only $40 it was well worth it!!
Thank you Jack Parrish and the Clay County Master Gardeners for your contribution to our Fall scenery!
