Canby Tack Sale - Oregon

It's almost that time again!  

What do you get when you mix a cold fall morning, the crack of dawn and 4,000 people pushing their way through for the best deals on new and used horse tack in Oregon?  That's right, the Canby Tack Sale!

 

The sale is probably the largest fund raising event for 4H, so when individuals and local retailers purchase a booth, it's for a great cause.  The demand for booths is high, I called two weeks ago to get a booth, and it was too late.  They weren't even taking names for a waiting list.

 

So, Saturday, October 20th at 8am, be there!  Clackamas County Fairgrounds in Canby, Oregon.

Our county 4H tack sale is in mid April.  It will be in it's 20th year in 2013.  It has a huge turnout.  You can find many vendors there.  (You have to reserve an indoor table as early as January.)  I usually have a table there and meet many horsepeople.  Some I know from years ago, others are new to the area.  You can find many good deals there, too.

That is a great fundraiser for 4H. I hope you all raise a lot of money.

I live in an extremely rural area, too. FFA is really big here...more so than 4H for some reason. I have a teenage daughter, and she isn't involved in either group, but I hear more from FFA than 4H. We always look forward to fair time and everything that's on display...baked goods and livestock. We justed had our AppleFest, and that was fantastic. My family had a lot of fun and filled up on festival food and music. That's our thing...music. Check out my blog on AppleFest when you have time.
