Website Success

By
Real Estate Agent with Century 21 Fusion

If you were to read back in my blog you would see that I launched my website on November 1, 2007.  Since that date I have been spending a set amount of time each week working on my website as well as doing other SEO techniques that I have read and learnt about.  As I don't have a lot of time I needed to focus my efforts and maximize the small amount of time I could put towards it.  I am very happy to say that after only 2 and a half months I am starting to see huge gains from my work.  My website has already achieved a PR3 rating as well I have broke into the top ten on several of my targeted terms and am on the verge for the remaining terms.  It's great to see your work finally pay off.  Part of my success can be attributed to what I have learnt here on active rain.  It's an incredible resource for anyone looking to gain tips and knowledge on how to increase website traffic, etc.

I have already set my next goals and will continue to work weekly towards them.  I am always looking for input or suggestions on my website so please feel free to visit my Saskatoon Real Estate website and send along any comments you may have.  Thanks for your time... I just had to share!

Kari, I know what you are saying.  I have learned so much from the members of AR.  I have not worked on increasing my website presence but I do get a lot of google hits on my blog by using specific keywords.  After reading your blog I am encouraged to work on my website ranking now.

Hey Kari,
Forgive the ignorance but what is SEO or a pr3 rating?
BTW I think your website is great.  Like they said before me, very clean and professional.  Would you please tell me your thoughts on mine?

Hi Jack,

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization which basically means optimizing your website so that it is more search engine friendly and increasing your presence on the internet.  There are lots of different things you can do like writing unique content in a certain way so that it is more search engine friendly as well as get quality inbound links to your website.  This can be done several ways but I have found blogging to be one of the most effective and easiest thus far.  There are tons of great groups on Active Rain abotu SEO... I definitely recommend joining a few and reading up on it.

A PR rank or Page Rank is a number used by Google to rank the quality and importance of your website.  The ranking system is from 0 - 10 with 10 being the highest.  There are only a handful if that which are granted a PR10 ranking.  PR ratings can take a very long time to achieve so for me achieving a PR of 3 in just 2 and a half months means I am definitely doing something right.

As for your website... I like the layout of it.  It's nice and simple to navigate although you may want to look at changing your title, meta tags and clean up some of your code using css.  Again I am relatively new to this but all of those things definitely make a difference when a search engine crawls your page.  Your page looks very professional though and would definitely give a good first impression!
