Do you believe there are UFOs out there? A lot of people in Stephenville, Tx apparently do.
Stephenville, Texas has been taken over by UFO trackers and Extra Terrestrial seekers after several residents have reported seeing things in the sky that appear to be otherworldly.
Several dozen people, including a pilot, county constable and business owners, insist they have seen a large silent object with bright lights flying low and fast. Some reported seeing fighter jets chasing it. The military claims they have no record of any activity that night, so they deny chasing down any craft, or even taking a look at any strange objects or lights in the sky. Officials at the region's two Air Force bases - Dyess in Abilene and Sheppard in Wichita Falls - also said none of their aircraft were in the area last week.
As usual, government officials are trying to dismiss the witnesses saying that their eyes were playing tricks on them and a plane probably fooled all of them. Locals swear that it was larger, quieter, faster and lower to the ground than an airplane. They also said the object's lights changed configuration, unlike those of a plane. People in several towns who reported seeing it over several weeks have offered similar descriptions of the object.
The Larry King Live sent a crew down to Stephenville to investigate. The show aired 18th Jan 2008 on CNN, seems like Larry himself might be a believer, also the huge media interest worldwide in this now indicates a massive shift amoung the public about accepting the reality of ufos.
Fourteen percent of Americans polled last year by The Associated Press and Ipsos say they have seen a UFO.
So, what do ya'll think? (please go easy on the Texas jokes!)
