Starting at 2:00pm Oct 13th, more than 30 fire departments are set to be part of the Nyack Fire Department's Chief's Inspection Parade. The parade is part of a Nyack tradition that honors the chief of the all-volunteer fire department. Overseeing the parade from the reviewing area will be Nyack Fire Department Chief James Petriello.
The route starts from Midland Avenue in Upper Nyack south to Main Street in Nyack, east to Broadway and onto Cedar Hill Avenue and will be closed to traffic.
Judges will review the fire departments participating in the parade, with trophies awarded to the best units. Trophies for the best fire truck from among the eight companies of the Nyack Fire Department will be awarded in a ceremony at 7:30 p.m. at the Nyack firehouse on Catherine Street, just off Route 9W.
