Vancouver Home Stager's Highlights of the IDS West Show 2012 Part 1
This year's Interior Design Show West (IDS West) Vancouver was truly a stellar exhibit. As a Vancouver Home Stager, it's extremely important to keep up with the trends and happenings in the design world. I was truly inspired, and plan on incorporating what I saw at the show into some of my staging designs. Here are the highlights of the show.
This lighting display by Robinson Lighting and Bath showcased all things Swarovski crystal. The ballgown surrounded by Swarovski crystal lights was really a show-stopper. Notice the shiny bodice?
Lighting is so important when staging or designing a space. I adored the mood lighting by Bocci. These ambient lights make me think instantly of Barbarella. How about these in a mod, downtown loft or condo in Gastown or Yaletown?
Power went out? Stop monkeying around and light some candles! This delightful "candelabra with a twist" at Mint Interiors really made me smile. Taking a traditional object and putting a quirky spin on it was definitely a theme this year.
Montauk's furniture display blew it out of the water for me. I love their clever use of spec sheets displayed almost as wallpaper. You can actually tear sheets off the display. Oh, and that leather furniture. You just wanted to pour yourself into one of those stunning leather chairs. This display looked as if it was right out of the page of a magazine.
How about this chair from Moe's Furniture? It looked like it was transported on a time machine from an art deco hotel. There is a look of speed and purpose to this chair. Fasten your seat belts!
I adore Urban Barn, and this year was no exception. This chair, inspired by a tweed riding jacket was everything and more. Masculine and a fun spin on the traditional wing back chair. I love the addition of brown suede buttons and arm rests to the chair. Talk about attention to detail.
I hope you enjoyed this Vancouver Home Stager's highlights of the IDS West Show 2012 Vancouver. Stay tuned for Part II coming soon...
