So You Think You Have a Fungus Problem?

As we head into the rainy season in Placer County, there is a growing concern about fungus, mold, and mildew. Each of these organic growths can be found in nature at any time, it is a normal part of the environment. Mold, mildew , and fungus can be a problem when it is discovered in areas that are meant to remain dry.

Finding mildew in your shower may be a simple remedy; clean your shower regularly and make sure you have proper ventilation in the room. Finding mold on your sheetrock walls, or fungus on your exterior siding, may be a sign of a bigger problem. There is a good chance moisture is getting into these areas and causing damage to the building materials. This is a problem that needs to be addressed.

If you are not comfortable in correcting this problem, there are professionals who can help. Find a contractor who has experience in finding the source of the moisture and capable of repairing the water damages. Waiting to fix the water damage and dry rot will only lead to a greater problem in the future.

We are seeing mushrooms pop up now that the weather is a little cooler. Many have not turns the irrigation valves down, so the water is standing much longer. Thanks for the comment Jennifer.

Indoors the only place you want to see mushrooms is in your salade. Mushroom heads are the fruit of the mold so the organisms are well established and reproducing when you see them. That's bad news indoors.

I've seen this in many areas of town, it is a sure sign of a much greater problem James. This is something that doesn't just happen overnight.

The mushrooms were into something, wether you were in the middle or not. No viagra needed. Condoms won't help you but a good quality HEPA grade facemask is a must. A mask for the musk!
