I am writing this after reading a blog post from the amusing and thought provoking Greg Nino.
Basically this has nothing to do with his post, rather some of the comments in his posts by fellow agents. It always amazes me that most agents do not understand that by obtaining your license and partnering as a subcontractor with the broker, you are going into BUSINESS for yourself. This is a business, not a job or a career. And you are a sales professional under your brokers license, unless you want to be an independent and open up your own brokerage, either small or large.
Even though, there will be a lot of agents that will disagree with me, most real estate agents are NOT Business minded Entrepreneurs. Yes, I said it, most agents should NOT be in the business. I am not saying that you need to be the former CEO of business to be a real estate salesperson, however, if you do not understand the fundamentals of marketing, accounting, labor relations, customer service, prospecting, and lead generation, you will not excel in real estate at a higher level and have future success. If you truly understand that real estate is a business, and that it is OK to generate a profit, then you would understand that a team, as a true business, can leverage your greatest asset, YOU!
Now, lets get to what this post is really about.

I have a successful business, this is what a team is all about, a business!
I will brag about my clients success, as my team of 5 members, on average helps 130 to 140 buyers and sellers achieve their goals every year!
I will take credit for my teams success as I am the founder and CEO of my team!
I care about my clients and give them the care and the personal service they need... that is real care, educating them on what it will take to sell their home, not confusing care with shoveling their driveway when it snows, or talking about non real estate issues over a cup of coffee, they hire my team to get the job done! This is business!
I make a profit and I am proud of it. When you help people, and more people, an amazing thing happens... You make more money, and when you manage your money, you make a profit!
I have systems in place that allow me and my team members to help more people!
I lead generate every day and give my team members the opportunity to share in this!
I hold training sessions every week with my team members every week to be competitive in my market and to help educate consumers!
I provide a real service to the community, the consumer, and to my team members!
I eat, sleep, and dream real estate!
I am never satisfied as I want to provide a higher level of service to my clients and this is achieved by having a team!
I hold my agents accountable. I have sales goals. Yes it is ok to make a profit!
I understand that when you get to the top it is lonely and a lot of agents will be jealous of your success!
I work on my business everyday, I am a hunter, prospecting for new business, coaching agents, lead generating, servicing clients, and developing new marketing systems.
I do not make excuses for being successful in my own little world where I practice real estate!
I feel success and performance does matter to the consumer. With great performance, comes practice, and practice makes perfect! Experience comes with helping more people!
I provide a generous split to my team members and they are rewarded based on performance. That is how business works!
I am highly competitive and train my team members to be competitive as well. I want them to help more people and make a profit!
I am a team leader, and damn proud of it!
