The World Financial Group of Agoura Hills has teamed with The Canyon Club in Agoura Hills to put on this eight day event to benefit three non-profit organizations: GirlsinPower.org, WhatCanWe.org and the KidsMarathonFoundation.org.
GirlsinPower.org is a foundation with a mission to provide teen girls with the tools to believe in themselves. They inspire young girls to have a healthy perspective and a purposeful attitude through self-awareness, self-management, and self-empowerment; thus becoming mindful-contributors to society.
WhatCanWe.org raises awareness and funds for licensed, non-profit animal rescuers to help offset the financial difficulties endured due to overwhelming veterinary costs. The organization creates fundraising projects for the rescuers, individuals and groups involved within communities.
KidsMarathonFoundation.org was founded by Rod Dixon, former New Zealand middle distance runner and winner of the 1972 Olympic Bronze Medal in running and the 1983 New York City Marathon. The mission of this organization is to provide scholarships to at-risk kids; especially those at risk due to obesity-related health problems. It inspires and empowers kids with a lifelong commitment to activity by encouraging fitness habits and healthy food choices.
These are three very worthwhile non-profit organizations; two of which focus on the well being of our youth and the third on the safety of animals in much need. So plan to come on over and visit this magnificent event; you’ll have a great time.
