Yes it's ridiculous that a political sign would keep someone from looking at a house. However, a political sign will keep some buyers from looking at a house. Why would you, as a seller, want to reduce the number of potential buyers for your property? It's the agents job to advise their client....if they have info regarding something that is holding buyers back, they are obligated to give that info to their seller. It's the sellers decision what to do with the info.
Human beings are always forming preconceptions about others based on visual clues. These clues could be artwork, literature, military memorabilia, hunting trophies, pets, occupations, education...these are all elements in a home that professional stagers can advise sellers on. Don't allow the "noise" that certain clues could give off...after all, if a house is for sale, it's all about the HOUSE. Don't allow certain clues to jeopardize how prospective buyers could interact with the seller during negotiations.
Melissa great post and very true thank you for sharing it and the video is great., I need to figure that out and try it for myself. Have a blessed day.
Interesting point, I would advise a buyer to take them down, and yes I think it's stupid, but buyers do form opinions immediately. More importantly, they are trying to sell their home, so either they turnoff potential buyers or they wait until the election is over. We can only advise... people are very passionate and sometimes a bit stubborn about some issues.
