Back in 2008 I wrote about this tree on Bard's Campus and the fight for life. I am happy to say it is still standing after all these years,although it seem to be getting smaller.
There is a lesson here, no matter how tough things get the key is to never give up, there is so much more to life; and yes hiccups will get in the way. Success will depend on your reaction to these hiccups.

Jennifer, I remember that post . I am glad to see that the tree is still standing. People should be careful when they go beneath the tree.

Gita there is rope around the perimeter of the tree, and looking at it you wouldn't choose to sit under it unless you were really dense.
Sharon there is new growth but it is the condition of the trunk which gets my attention.
Andrea so true, the tree has a will to continue living and there are people who care enough to assist.
Karen when I am in the area I just have to check on it. There is certainly a lesson there.
