There is no question about how useful our tablets are in our business. I love that I can carry a portfolio with a tablet compartment instead of a big bulky shoulder bag with a lap top in it. I love that I can check email, access the mls, property appraiser website, write contracts, write listing agreements etc... all on the go. I guess what I mean here is that I LOVE my Tablet.
Last month I went on a listing appointment at a very nice woman's condo in a 55+ community. I toured the condo, sat at her kitchen table and enjoyed a glass of iced tea with her while she told me about her children and grand children. Suddenly she stopped and said "Ok...lets get to business" I felt since it was just she and I that I would use my listing presentation that I have set up on my tablet. I woke up my tablet and opened my presentation. Her eyes widened with wonder. I showed her where to hold the tablet and how to turn the pages of the presentation. (its a pdf and works like a book reader) I took out my "Book" version and began speaking and when the time came I simply said "turn the page". Every time I did say "turn the page" she smiled and giggled.
We decided that now would not be the time for her to list her condo for sale and we would keep in touch. Although I didn't list the condo for this lovely lady we had an hour long conversation about tablets. I showed her apps I have and what they do. I showed her the forward facing camera and how she can see her grandchildren when she spoke to them using googe+ hangout or skype. I showed her that she could do her online banking, read a book and so on.
The next week I received a phone call from her and she told me that she had bought a tablet and got a great deal and got it with a data plan so she could use it everywhere. She called because my automated marketing went out and for the fall I am sending cookie recipes via email and she was just about to make the cookies reading the recipe off the email on her tablet and she wanted to thank me for explaining the tablet to her and how they work. She told me that I changed her life. I told her it wasn't me...It was my Galaxy Tab.
p.s. This awesome Lady has a desktop pc for sale. I was told that "I'm never using that piece of s*!t again"
