Before:
When we purchased the home it offered three small bedrooms on the main floor and shared a common bathroom. The entrance was long and narrow, yet it lead you to a small living room and outdated kitchen and seamed encapsulated for last 60 years. Everything need to go, from windows, mill work, dark brown shag carpet, hardware, and the light fixtures... it was outdated.
On the lower level, there was one finished bedroom and a 3/4 bathroom. The bedroom was turned into a laundry room / kitchenette. The rest of the basement was unfinished and the sub-floor was exposed. You could see all of the old plumbing, electrical, and patched jobs the previous homeowner had done to the house.
Lastly- my favorite piece of the acquisition was the yard. The home came with 1/2 acre lot, flat with over grown trees, fruit trees, gardening area, and came fully fenced. I was so excited because homes like these are difficult to find, because you cant find the sqft and lot size.. and yet this home offered both = a big WIN.

After:
When it was all said and done, we finished the project within seven weeks. The home was gutted from the inside out, we added all new windows, mill work, interior & exterior paint, an addition with master bedroom and master bathroom were added to the current structure, fully rebuilt kitchen with all of today's modern amenities, SS appliances, new oil rubbed hardware and light fixtures.
We finished the downstairs basement by adding three bedrooms, a den, and bonus room. We rebuilt the bathroom from a 3/4 bath to a full size with vanity. Updated all of the electrical, plumbing, water heater, cleaned out the fireplace, added new carpet, insulated the exterior framed walls, and added two-panel doors.
The outside we kept the same, minus removing a few bushes to accomodate the new master bedroom addition. This project was so much fun and looking forward to our next one.
