Heartwarming, yet Heartbreaking... Part 2

I've received many responses to my post last week about my visit to Ground Zero.  Obviously many people are still grieving for the tremendous losses the country suffered over six years ago.  Meanwhile, the politicians and commentators are bringing the events of 9/11 into their debates and speeches, mostly to criticize the actions of President Bush, and the "war on terror".

I'm sure many of you saw this during the Super Bowl in 2002... and if not, you probably should.  Granted, it's a Budweiser commercial, but the sentiments presented in this one minute video are just as relevant now as they were when it first aired.

This only aired once... and was never shown on television again.  Luckily, quite a few folks were able to capture it and continue to spread it to those who may have missed it.

Enjoy...

I visited ground zero in October 2003.  It was such a moving experience.  I remember standing there in silence with tears flowing down my face.  We then moved to the south side of the site to see the "bathtub" better.  (The bathtub was built to hold back the river water from the underground levels)  The construction of the subway was going on and there was a some shining gleaming metal that was such a sign of hope.

The other most striking thing was the tourists.  You could tell every American that was there.  We were silent like we were walking on sacred ground.  We looked at the displays and read quietly.  The non-American visitors were easily spotted.  They had cameras out taking pictures of each other in front of the displays and were much more vocal.  That has always stuck with me.
