What are you going to do with your spare time?

Real Estate Sales Representative with RE/MAX Preferred, West Chester, PA, RS152252A RS152252A

Life is fleeting.  We all know it.  We know people who have lost loved ones, both human and fur babies.  We've had losses at work and great triumphs.  We've felt great happiness and heartbreaking sadness.  With the limited amount of time we have on earth, why do we fuss and bother over things that do not matter?

There's a blog post out there that is berating a friend of mine.  His character is being called into question and he's being very quiet about it but I know it must be bothering him.  In the comments, the writer said that he "just woke up today and knew that that today was the day to finally post what I wrote months ago".

Really?  With all the good things he could have done with his time this lovely fall day, with all the chores he could have accomplished, great books he could have read, loved ones he could have hugged, he chose to spend his time tearing someone down over a slight that he didn't experience.  The slight was amended immediately and apologies sent to the injured party.  Not good enough for this fellow.  He wants blood.  Nothing short of the offender being drawn and quartered will do.  He's hiding behind self-righteous indignation when what he's really doing is being petty and mean.

What a waste of time.  Truly.  We should all feel sorry for someone who spends time tearing others down when so many folks need a hand up.  I'm not wasting anymore time on this, just had to say my piece.

Indeed, the energy wasted just doesn't seem worth it. Too bad many just don't understand or care.

Susan, BRAVO FOR YOU! I am in complete agreement that life is way too short to send whining about alleged or real "slights" Why waste time complaining, in fear or holding resentments? It just robs a person of time that could be spent doing so many more positive things...or at the very least something that was fun and/or enlightening!

Hmmm....This post put me on a soap box but I feel so much better now ;-)

I find this all so very very sad.  It is not what we're about here in the Rain.  I have been telling myself all day that hurtful people are hurting.

I agree. All of that time and energy spend stirring an old pot was wasted. So sad.

I am glad you wrote this Susan.  I did so much today and really enjoyed a nice walk with my puppy.  Energy should be spent to help, honor and build people up.  I just don't know what to say when people can't/don't forgive.

Thanks Tammy.  Small meanness makes me very sad.  No excuse for it.

I'm glad you posted this Susan.  I have no idea who you are talking about, but to be so hateful and mean is just not worth the time and energy.  But you know how people love thier drama...

Susan, Seriously, with all that extra time you and I could chat about our current political climate and it's intersection with certain religious beliefs regarding certain leaders!  <evil grin>  Bill

P.S.  I'm staying out of arm's reach!

Sad story - it's a shame that some people choose to spend time tearing others down rather than building themselves or others up.

It's hard not to pity someone like that.

Hi Jared!  Drama is not something I'm overly interested in when it comes to Active Rain.  I have enough drama in my every day life raising teens!

Bill, you can stay out of arm's length only for as long as it takes my car to get to Warren County!

John, It's hard not to pity the person but it's even harder not to feel bad for the friend on the receiving end of the vitriol.
