JOHN’S PASS SEAFOOD FESTIVAL FEATURES HALLOWEEN HAPPENINGS
MADEIRA BEACH, FL: For more than 30 years, John’s Pass Village and Boardwalk has offered festivities for the whole family at the annual Seafood Festival. The 31st annual John’s Pass Seafood Festival takes place at Historic John’s Pass Village located in beautiful Madeira Beach, FL. This two ½ -day outdoor festival, features continuous musical entertainment, an art and craft show, fireworks, a haunted house and a wide selection of local seafood vendors to tempt your taste buds. This year’s event will take place on Friday, October 26 from Noon to 11: 00 PM (with Halloween Block Party from 7-11pm), Saturday, October 27 from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM and Sunday, October 28 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Although admission to the event is free, a suggested donation at the entrance will benefit Secrets of the Sea Marine Exploration Center and Aquarium, a 501c3 organization whose goal is to enhance the public’s understanding of the value and fragility of the local and global marine environment through research, education and personal experiences. The many features of the event include an Art & Craft Show with 60 local and regional artists selling their work, tons of fresh local seafood, over 100 unique retail shops, live music throughout the Pass and a children’s area.

New this year, the festival will open at noon on Friday. The food area has been expanded onto Village Blvd and will include healthier menu selections as well as specialty samples at dozen different food stands. At 6:00 PM festival organizers will hold a blessing of the fleet honoring the fishermen who risk their lives every day in order to bring our favorite dishes to our tables. Fireworks will take place at 9:00 PM and a Halloween Block Party in the main food court from 7:00 -11:00 PM sponsored by Vino Florida, will top off the evening with DJ Infinite Skillz and a costume contest with thousands in cash and prizes. Fresh local seafood, Vino Florida wine and a cash bar will be available. The Tampa Triangle Tours “Horror at the Pass” Haunted House will be opened above the Vino Florida Winery during select hours. The later the hour, the creepier the experience, so be sure to bring the little ones early in the day.
On Saturday, a children’s Halloween costume contest will take place at Windworks on Saturday at 3:00 PM and trick or treating will take place from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on both Saturday and Sunday. Children’s costume contest prizes are sponsored by Windworks and Kiwanis Club of Gulf Beaches. Gators on the Pass will host a Captain Morgan Halloween Bash from 9:00 PM – 2:00 AM, featuring live music by Home Bound Train and costume contests with cash prizes up to $500. The event will also host an oyster eating contest at Hub’s Tavern at 3:00 PM on Sunday.
Parking for the festival is available both in John’s Pass Village and off-site. $10 parking within John’s Pass Village is accessible from the 129th and 131st Avenue entrances to the Village. Additional conveniently located $5 parking is also available at Gators on the Pass. Your $5 parking includes $5 in “Gator Bucks”, which can be redeemed at Gators, and a free shuttle to Joacha behn’s Pass Village and back. Free parking is available at Madeira Beach Fundamental School with complimentary shuttle service to and from John’s Pass Village.
The Seafood Festival is hosted by the John’s Pass Village Association.
