Don’t Be Fooled By this Scam….Claiming IRS Refunds!
I just got this email and it is so sad that these fraudsters sit up at night thinking of new ways to use our information for identity theft.See email below:
NOTICE OF TAX RETURN FOR YEAR 2011
Dear Taxpayer,
I am sending this email to announce: After the last annual calculation of your fiscal activity we have determined that you are eligible to receive a tax return of:
$253.04
To receive your return, you need to register for an e-Services account click here to register
If you already have an e-Services account, click hereto login
For more info on government services go to irs.gov
(Do not try to go there as they can capture your info but the IRS site is org not gov.)
I am sure most of us would not be fooled but asking for our IRS returns is ridiculous as IRS already has them and would just send a check if they had an overpayment plus how would they have our email address? But be careful and perhaps send it on to friends or clients.
