Marble Falls has a Moonlight Madness event every year around Halloween.  This is a great opportunity to get some great dealshalloweeen bats and see some great costumes and maybe even get a little sweet treat, too.   Take a look and enjoy!   Happy Halloweeen.

MARBLE FALLS — Area retailers are kicking it up a notch Thursday with frightfully good deals during the annual Moonlight Madness sales event.

For almost two decades, the shopping showcase has given customers a chance to save as retailers trim prices to the bone or offer spook-tacular deals close to Halloween.

“I think it’s one of the quintessential shop-local events,” said Bill Rives, the Marble Falls/Lake LBJ Chamber of Commerce executive director. “Retailers who take part in it will have a lot of fun and, I think, enjoy some extra business.”

Merchants, the Chamber, The Tribune and its sister newspaper The Picayune team up to bring the event to Marble Falls.

Shoppers paying a visit to participating local stores may find the retailers and staff dressed in Halloween regalia. Along with the specials and all the deals, many merchants stay open later to take advantage of the sales event.

Moonlight Madness also serves as the official kickoff for the Haunted Dungeon “Darkness Falls” production.

The haunted house is celebrating a cherished tradition when it opens Oct. 25. The event runs through Oct. 28 and again Oct. 31.

The hours are 7-10 p.m. each night, with tickets $5 for visitors 8 and up. Organizers said the scary venue is not suitable for children 7 and under.

Youth 8-12 must also be accompanied by an adult.

The Haunted Dungeon has moved back to its original site in the basement of Salem’s Fashions, 514 U.S. 281.

“There’s a lot of things going on during Moonlight Madness,” Rives said. “This could be the pre-Black Friday kind of jump-off.”

Black Friday refers to the day after Thanksgiving, considered one of the busiest shopping days in the country and also when many merchants move from financially operating in the red to the black.
