I had my first attempt at really helping a seller stage their home this week. Below are some of the before and after pictures. I was unable to utilize the garage for storage, so there is still more furniture in the rooms that I would like, but at least the spaces are shown much better now. What do you think?
Donna,
I am dying to see your pictures. But they are NOT showing up. I had a similar problem on a recent posting. ON my computer they would show up... but then when I went to another computer in our studio and pulled up my blog... all I got was those red X's... which is what is coming up for us.
ANYWAY, I figured out what needed to be done to get pixes to post here on AR. If you would like help... give me a call... I will gladly walk you thru setting it up.

Ok I posted that LAST comment. And NOW the pixes are showing up. WHY? I have NO idea.
Ok... first tip. ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS post a before and after pix from the EXACT same point of view. Remember YOU have a full and rich understanding of the room. The viewer of a picture does not. They use the before pix to start the story, the after pix needs to UPDATE that same story. You want the person viewing your work to lookat your transformation NOT spending time trying to figure WHERE in the room (if it is the same room) you are now in.

No pictures here. Are you hosting your photos some place else? IF you are seeing them, we aren't so perhaps you need to host on Flickr or something.
Don't keep us waiting with baited breath, we want to see them!! :)
Blogspot (and some other blogging engines) won't allow other sites to load pictures from them. This is to prevent people from using them as a picture host and using up their bandwidth. You can use a free image hoster like imageshack.us Waiting for Ben to get back in town so we can get our image hosting working.
Hi Donna,
I'm a bit late, but I just saw your post here. Despite the lack of storage space for the large pieces, you did a good job of de-cluttering. Changing the strong pattern in the bedspread really helps calm a bedroom.
Something to consider next time you help a client Stage an occupied home is to reduce the amount of collectibles in the hutches as well. (Maybe you did and I just can't tell because the photos are small) Just a few of the best pieces showing are enough.
And don't be afraid to relocate the art, clocks etc on the walls. Moving them down to eye level and centering them within the space or above the furniture below will help the room feel balanced.
It's always fun to have a nice centerpiece on the dining table when possible too! Something the homeowners can live with, but something a little fun and exciting too. And I'm so glad to see that you knew not to put any utensils on the table! Always keep those put away when people will be coming in and out.
Great job Donna!
