Home Sales Statistics for Prairie Village KS--September 2012

Time for our monthly review of home sales in Prairie Village, KS! I’m including statistics for single family homes sales in September, plus a year-to-date review:

In September 2012, 37 single family homes sold. The average list price was $199,708 and the average sales price was $200,214 Average days on market: 67

In September 2011, 36 single family homes sold. The average list price was $185,145 and the average sales price was $178,514 Average days on market: 92

Number of units has remained steady compared to last year, but the average sales price is way up--good news for sellers. Also good news for buyers in that this area is regaining value lost during the housing crash.

And here are the those January--September YTD figures:

From January - September 2012, 335 single family homes sold. Average sales price was $223,080. Average days on market: 96.

From January - September 2011, 299 single family homes sold. Average sales price was $210,187. Average days on market: 96.

Here we see the trend of more units selling this year as compared to last, and the average sales price is trending upward. This has been consistent since the beginning of the year. With mortgage prices falling through 2012, I expect we will finish the year very strong in sales and with a much higher average sales price than at the end of 2011.
