Verifying your Allen county, IN Homestead exemption

If you have a primary residence in the state of Indiana, you have until December 31st, 2012 to verify that you are still eligible to receive the Homestead exemption through your county Auditor.

Even if you have had the homestead exemption in past years, you need to verify that you are still eligible to receive the exemption going forward. If you don't do this before the end of the year, your 2013 property tax bill will go up.  Fortunately for those living in Allen county, the auditor has developed a database of those property owners that HAVE NOT verified their homestead exemptions. The following video walks you through the steps you need to take in order to check that your homestead has been verified and filed.  If you live outside of Allen county, check with your county Auditor to see how to verify your exemption
