Living in Powell, Ohio allows us the opportunity to be close enough to help out with the world's third largest Ronald McDonald House. It is located across the street from the world class Nationwide Children's Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. The Ronald McDonald House serves as a home away from home for families with hospitalized children and does this for a very low cost to the family.
The Ronald McDonald House started in Philadelphia in the 1970's by a 76 er's player. They have grown and multiplied each year since. These houses are all 90% funded by the communities in which they are located and only 10% by McDonalds. Our RMH is expanding next year by 50%. This will allow them to help 120 families every night, if necessary.
This fall a group of real estate agents in Columbus have challenged each other to see whose office can offer the biggest donation to the Columbus RMH. Keller Williams Capital Partners in Worthington collected a full pick up truck worth of cleaning products, cereal, detergents and personal care products plus a donation of $425. I am very thankful and appreciative of all their monetary and time donations. I will find out on Monday who won the challenge. Stay tuned. . . .
