WHERE IN THE WORLD...St. Augustine, FL

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty

St. Augustine is the oldest city and port in the continental US! It is located in a region of Florida known as "The First Coast" or "Florida's Historic Coast". According to the 2010 US Census, the population was 12,975.

A popular travel destination, the city is known for it's historic homes from various periods and Spanish colonial-era buildings. Other popular tourist attractions include: The St. Augustine Alligator Farm, the Fountain of Youth and historic sites of the civil rights movement.

St. Augustine also has a reputation for being one of the most haunted cities in the US. With a haunted lighthouse, hotels, restaurants, parks and cemeteries, pretty much everything in this city is haunted. Ghost Hunters filmed a particularly spooky ghost hunt in the St. Augustine Lighthouse a few years ago. The lighthouse even offers tours where you can visit at night and learn about those who have died on site.

What a catch headline. However, I will remember St. Augustine as the city with the most haunted houses. Probaby going to be a busy weekend for St. Augustine's  ghostly residents.
