The Whistler Bed and Breakfast
Take a step back in time when you stay at The Whistler Bed and Breakfast in historic Huntsville, Texas. You will enjoy original antique furniture and decorations that have been in the owner’s family for years.
The Whistler Bed and Breakfast was originally known as the Eastham Thomason Home. James Thomason began construction of it in 1859. In 1869 it was purchased by Byrd Eastham. I am told that one of Eastham’s descendants eventually married a Thomason bringing the home full circle. ☺
This beautiful, old home sits on 3 secluded acres, just two blocks from downtown Huntsville.
Sit under the massive, old pecan tree and read a book, or swing on the front porch with a glass of iced tea.
If you’re into history, take the walking tour of the home and learn the history of the furniture in each room. There are many historic sites in and around Huntsville to visit such as the Sam Houston Memorial Museum Complex, Sam Houston’s Grave, the Austin College Building, and many others.
