After a bit of hiatus, Word of the Week has returned. SO many good, underused words out there, SO little time, so getting right to it, this Word of the Week is RESPONSIVE.
There are several reasons I like this word. By definition an adjective, but because its about taking action, I nominate it for verb status.
RESPONSIVE is quick, and positive. There is focus. It's also more thoughtful, then reactive.
RESPONSIVE doesn't pander, and it's not about flattery, either. Meriam-Webster says it's a reaction that is quick, appropriate and sympathetic-exactly how I want to be treated as a consumer.
As someone who takes great pride in running a service-based business, this word represents most everything I want people to know about how I run my business.
Last, this was written while awaiting the arrival of Hurricane Sandy...I am hopeful few will find themselves in need, but ohso grateful for those who extend themselves, who are responsive to changing conditions and put themselves in harms way, for the safety of others.
