What a strange feeling it is to be here in Palm Springs, California yesterday with termperatures in the high 80's, low 90's, (much higher than our norm), and talking to my brother in Conn. where he and his family are holed up. He's a teacher, but all classes were cancelled and he made a good point to me.
"They keep calling this a once in a lifetime storm..I guess they already forgot that last winter was called the same when we got 14 ft. dumped on us" Hmmm..we are messing with nature, no doubt there.
I suspect that as with our desert yesterday..it's very hard to "get" what's happening on the other coast when it's so gorgeous here. I hope FEMA is able to help families that lose their homes and businesses. We all need to be aware that no matter where we live, it could be us! We are all intertwined at this point..Sandy has moved on up to Canada now...let's take care of each other.
