Your Town Needs You!

The Town of Cary is about to undertake the most ambitious long-range planning effort in the community’s history. It is crucial that it be built on the values, needs and aspirations of the community. To ensure this happens, a diverse group of community members will be convened to guide the planning process. This group will comprise a steering committee known as the Committee on the Future that will guide the process and make policy recommendations to Town Council.

Please consider the following:

1. Apply to the committee – the committee needs engaged members of the community to bring the authentic voice of the community to the planning process; please consider applying to be considered for the Committee on the Future.
2. Share with others – please send this email to people you think might be valuable on such a committee and encourage them to apply.

This committee will help to shape the future growth and development of Cary through the creation ofThe Community Plan for the Town of Cary. This committee will work closely with the Town of Cary planning staff, the planning consultant team and other community members to bring insight and perspective to the planning process.

This is an exciting time in Cary as the town has committed to an ambitious planning process, and community involvement is at the heart of its success. While Cary has established itself as one of the premier communities in the United States through solid stewardship and its proximity to leading research and educational institutions, its continued success will rely on sound planning and development strategies in which dedicated community members will play a crucial role.
